Alternative school options
AsA's task is to all conceivable aid and support options to find ways to enable your child to interact peacefully with other children and adults at school. Difficulties at school are reduced, making learning easier. Every student is different.
AsA addresses this directly and seeks the most suitable help in each case.
What is AsA?
Children and young people can experience difficulties in class or within their school for a variety of reasons. Our school strives to find effective solutions and provide support.
The Alternative school offerings (AsA for short) is a form of Educational support.
This type of program is now offered at several schools.
AsA is intended to intervene before a child can no longer cope at their own school. To this end, the students and all other involved parties (teachers, classmates, parents) are informed. Support offered to find solutions to the problems.
In individual cases, AsA can also refer students to extracurricular specialist services (such as child and adolescent psychiatrists, educational counseling centers, youth welfare offices, etc.).
When can and should AsA be activated?
We want to help if students
- especially through problems with participation and learning or by disrupting the class,
- Having difficulties dealing with other children, parents, teachers, or with one's own feelings,
- exhibit particularly aggressive, but perhaps also particularly anxious or quiet behavior, and are therefore unable to learn properly,
- suddenly don't want to go to school at all anymore,
- the grades suddenly become significantly worse.
How does AsA work?
AsA It aims to help students overcome personal difficulties with learning and everyday school life. This will enable them to participate more successfully in class and/or cope better in their classes.
The Care or Financial support the children and young people mornings during school hours instead of.
The following methods can be used:
- Discussions and consultations with children and teachers
- Attention and concentration training
- Classroom visits (if desired)
- Parent-teacher conferences
- Facilitating contact with extracurricular institutions
In addition, two Consultation hours offered.
Who is the AsA team?
Sebastian Lauerbach is a teacher at the Jean-Paul-Platz special education center. He comes to our building every Tuesday and Friday and works together with our guidance counselor, Birgit Gerlach.
How do I get in touch?
AsA This is a voluntary offering at our school.
A student can be registered by their class teacher, by you as parents, or by the student themselves. It is also possible for a child to be registered without the consent of their legal guardian(s).
