Nature class

The Nature Class project began in the 2022/23 school year with a relaxing autumn excursion to the forest. A little later, we delved deeper into the subject, learning a great deal about hunting. The students of class 6g met with Ms. Reiß, a hunter from the Nuremberg Hunting and Game Association, in the Fischbach Forest. She informed the class about the different animals of the forest, among other things. We were fascinated to experience firsthand how the fur and antlers of various forest animals felt and how these animals live in the woods. Finally, we even had the opportunity to listen to the hunting horn.

During the forest days, the students of class 6g learned about the local plants and started to build a forest tipi.

Each student was allowed to choose their own tree in Herschelplatz and has since kept a tree diary with monthly tasks.

We learned about the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which every country is supposed to implement as effectively as possible by 2030. To achieve this, everyone has a role to play. So, we're currently working on this topic as a class and will hopefully soon launch our first projects to fulfill these goals in our own small community. Even as a single individual, you can make a difference!

The Energy and Environment Office of the City of Nuremberg has been a great help to us so far, where class 6g completed their first workshop, "The Forest in Your Schoolbag." We learned a lot about how the forest has changed in recent decades, what role humans play in this, and how we can use the resources of our forest more sustainably.



Class 6g is enjoying the weekly forest days and is excited about what else awaits them.
