School dog
Since the 2017/18 school year, our school has also offered animal-assisted pedagogy, and currently even has two school dogs. Based on the many positive experiences gained in institutions such as daycare centers and schools with specially trained dogs and their influence on children, we want to utilize this approach here as well.
Due to the presence of dogs
- The classroom atmosphere will become more relaxed.
- The students' motivation increases

- Stress and anxiety are reduced.
The Giant Schnauzer bitch, born in 2016, “Oops“She lives with teacher Ms. Sebald and her family. She currently serves as the class dog. In this role, she teaches the students how to interact with dogs and their behavior, motivates them in class, and boosts their self-confidence when they successfully complete exercises and walk on a leash. On forest days, she accompanies the class and demonstrates how to move safely through undergrowth.”
We say goodbye to the Golden Retriever and school dog "Elli"In 2022, at the age of 12, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge with her family and owner, teacher Mrs. Drechsel-Shahid.
